Day 4

Busy day today. The little one had a rough night for some bizarre reason and had us up in the middle of the night. Never happens. So the day got off to a late start, and ended late as well as noted in my start and finish times. 😉 Still, a good day.

Kept ahead with EP. 2 today… “Wandering an Old Tale,” and focused on the worksheet for expression #1: という. I helped build all this out, of course, but it still amazes me how much is here, and how challenging things can be even when going over something as simple as this initial Japanese grammar point. In my notes today, I focused on things I didn’t recognize right off the bat, and while I’m focusing on grammar at this point, the kanji is certainly kicking me in the rear. I used jisho.org to deal with things I didn’t know; I never use it actually because I prefer Midori, but my phone was dead. So, improvise.

I didn’t fair too poorly on the simple sentence making and the translation exercise, but at just about an hour in this late at night…, and seeing all the kanji I was going to have to look up for the third and final part of the lesson, I decide it was better to hit the rack. Day four is complete! I will pick up here tomorrow. Onward ho!
