Growth takes time. Maplopers embrace the effort. Here’s what they sign up for:
Course duration: Depends entirely on your schedule. If you wish to ensure you finish, we recommend planning for 10-26 weeks. Some practitioners take much longer. Your call.
Your weekly commitment: If you study at least an hour a day, you will make good progress. If that is impossible, aim for at least that amount of time every other day. One advantage to going slow while on our practitioner track program, is that spreading things out can actually give you more exposure to everything you get inside the program.
The 10-week cohort program is designed to keep learners moving so they don’t fall behind. This momentum can hinder slower adoption of all the materials we provide, however.
Diligent learners return to visit that material later, but it’s best if it is all consumed at a natural pace, and in tandem with all other materials.
It’s a matter of priorities—you get to decide which method is best for you. If you need the drive of a strictly-paced program and a tight group going through everything together, apply to our 10-week program.
We want you to finish. So, do what’s best for you with that in mind.
Your tasks in a nutshell:
- Review the video modules (2-3 per week is a good goal), study the lesson worksheet, and complete the online quizzes. (Most video modules are between 5 and 8 minutes in length.)
- Complete your workbook assignments and submit them for review. There are no deadlines for these whatsoever.
- Receive feedback on your workbook assignments.
- Draft and submit your writing assignment(s).
- Receive feedback on your writing assignment(s). With the self-paced program, you will receive feedback from your instructor on 10 assignments over the course of your time in the program.
- Shadow with the audio immersion pack and practice with the Anki decks at your own leisure. Public transort is your best friend when it comes to this!
- Participate to some degree on our private Discord server.
